Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage's Parks and Recreation department is seeking an experienced program facilitator to manage and operate community recreational programs and summer camps. You will help staff connect with facility user groups, monitor programs, and oversee permitting of recreation facilities.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in facilitating recreational programs or a related degree, with relevant certifications and a valid Alaska driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Associates degree in Physical Education, Recreational Sports, or related discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Recreational Sports, or related discipline and experience in facilitation of a recreational program.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the programming and operation of Anchorage Parks and Recreation facilities and summer camps.
  • Act as a facility lead, provide training and teachable moments to ensure outstanding customer service, quality programs and a safe facility operation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
