Job summary

Career Team LLC is seeking a Career Advisor – Youth to provide career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services to young adults eligible for the WIOA program. This onsite role emphasizes intake, eligibility, assessments, and liaison work with partners to support employment, training, and education goals.

The position requires strong communication and organizational skills, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and the ability to work with a diverse client base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make well-thought-out decisions.
• Computer literate with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems.
• Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base with cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to meet and exceed set goals and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and case management services to community members interested in WIOA Youth services
• Complete intake and eligibility determination for workforce programs
• Assess job seekers' employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing and testing
• Serve as a liaison between workforce programs and community partners and resources
• Offer all youth participants the required 14 Youth Program Elements as part of your case management
• Support Youth participants in Work Experience (WEX) opportunities and employer satisfaction
• Create and foster relationships with area juvenile justice centers and school districts
• Enter data into Work In Texas and process clients through participant information systems
• Guide job seekers through development of individual employment plans (IEP)
• Stay on top of labor market trends and best practices in career paths
• Counsel clients on job and education opportunities and trainings
• Refer individuals to services and follow up on activities
• Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, and group presentations
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure eligibility documents are compliant
• Meet/exceed program benchmarks and participate in staff events
• Complete all required reports within the data management system
