Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Job Coach for the YouthWorks Private Sector (YWPS) program. You will work with youth ages 16 to 21, helping them set goals, develop workforce skills, coordinate placements, and provide post-placement support.

You will visit worksites, communicate with employers, update databases, screen applicants, conduct interviews, and assist with workshops, resume prep, and life skills training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, education, vocational rehabilitation or related field.
• Two years of vocational or job rehabilitation experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver’s license or be eligible for Baltimore City permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide group and individual sessions to support YouthWorks participants’ job readiness and post-placement.
• Liaise between the YouthWorks office and employer worksites; screen applicants and conduct interviews.
• Update internal reports and databases; verify youth information and assist with attendance and timesheets.
• Deliver YouthWorks workshops and career readiness sessions; assist with resume prep and interview coaching.
• Meet with employers to maintain excellent relations and resolve on-site issues as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, education, vocational rehabilitation, job development or related human service field

Two years of related vocational or job rehabilitation experience
