Job summary
Thompson Child & Family Focus - A Child's Place Program in Knoxville seeks a Youth Care Specialist for its youth residential programs. You will supervise, support, and build a therapeutic relationship with youth, ensuring safe environments and documenting progress.
Typical shifts are 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am on a rotating schedule, with travel to facilities within the Knoxville area as needed. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Must have a High School diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in a residential youth or related child and family services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet credentialing/licensing standards as applicable.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision, support, guidance, and build a therapeutic relationship with youth.
- Engage with youth, provide direction, structure, and support for physical and psychological needs.
- Schedule and participate in activities; ensure environments are clean and safe; complete daily documentation.
- Travel to various residential facilities within the Knoxville area as needed.

- As a Youth Care specialist, you will provide supervision, support, guidance, and build a therapeutic relationship with the youth under your care.
- A typical day as a Youth Care Specialist will include engaging with youth in the program, providing direction, structure and support for their physical and physiological needs. Scheduling and participating in activities, ensuring the physical milieus remain clean and safe, completing daily documentation as required by regulatory standards and transporting clients as needed for appointments and activities
- This position may require travel to various residential facilities within the Knoxville area.
- As a Youth Care Specialist, you will work the below rotating schedule:
Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday
Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
- Starting Pay Range: $18 - $21.50/hourly based on experience

- Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the program
- High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience working in a residential youth or adult operation or related experience working in the field of child and family services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software
- All full-time employees must work one of the following schedules: 1st shift (7am-7pm) or 2nd shift (7pm-7a)
