Job summary

Thompson in Nashville, TN is seeking a Youth Care Specialist to supervise and support youth in residential programs. You will engage with youth, provide structure for their physical and psychological needs, and help maintain safe, clean environments while completing required documentation.

The role offers a rotating 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am shift, with an emphasis on building therapeutic relationships and daily activities. Licensing and 1+ year related experience are preferred; driving is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the program
• High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of one year of experience working in a residential youth or adult operation or related experience working in the field of child and family services.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software
• Must be at least 21
• All full-time employees must work one of the following schedules: 1st shift (7am-7pm) or 2nd shift (7pm-7am)

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, support, guidance, and build a therapeutic relationship with the youth under your care
• Engage with youth, provide direction, structure and support for physical and physiological needs
• Schedule and participate in activities, ensure environments are clean and safe
• Complete daily documentation as required by regulatory standards
• Transport clients as needed for appointments and activities
• Travel to residential facilities within the Nashville area

What will you do as a Youth Care Specialist for our youth residential programs?

• As a Youth Care specialist, you will provide supervision, support, guidance, and build a therapeutic relationship with the youth under your care.
• A typical day as a Youth Care Specialist will include engaging with youth in the program, providing direction, structure and support for their physical and physiological needs. Scheduling and participating in activities, ensuring the physical milieus remain clean and safe, completing daily documentation as required by regulatory standards and transporting clients as needed for appointments and activities
• This position may require travel to various residential facilities within the Nashville area.
• As a Youth Care Specialist, you will work the below rotating schedule:

1st Shift: 7am-7pm or 2nd Shift: 7pm-7am

Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday

Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
