Job summary

Thompson Child & Family Focus - A Child's Place Program in Nashville seeks a Youth Care Specialist to supervise and support youth in residential programs. You will build therapeutic relationships, engage youth in activities, and maintain safe environments while documenting services and transporting clients as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet credentialing/licensing standards pertaining to the program.
• High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a residential youth or related setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, support, guidance, and build a therapeutic relationship with the youth.
• Engage with youth, provide direction, structure and support for physical and psychological needs, schedule activities, ensure clean/safe environments, complete daily documentation, and transport clients as needed.
• May require travel to various residential facilities within the Nashville area.
• Follow rotating schedule: 1st shift 7am-7pm or 2nd shift 7pm-7am.

What will you do as a Youth Care Specialist for our youth residential programs?

• As a Youth Care specialist, you will provide supervision, support, guidance, and build a therapeutic relationship with the youth under your care.
• A typical day as a Youth Care Specialist will include engaging with youth in the program, providing direction, structure and support for their physical and physiological needs. Scheduling and participating in activities, ensuring the physical milieus remain clean and safe, completing daily documentation as required by regulatory standards and transporting clients as needed for appointments and activities
• This position may require travel to various residential facilities within the Nashville area.
• As a Youth Care Specialist, you will work the below rotating schedule:

1st Shift: 7am-7pm or 2nd Shift: 7pm-7am

Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday

Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

• Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the program
• High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of one year of experience working in a residential youth or adult operation or related experience working in the field of child and family services.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software
• Must be at least 21
• All full-time employees must work one of the following schedules: 1st shift (7am-7pm) or 2nd shift (7pm-7am)
