Job summary

Upbring seeks a Youth Care Worker to provide direct care and supervision for Unaccompanied Children, ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment and strict adherence to ORR licensing and internal policies.

The role includes intake, basic needs provision, behavior management, 1:1 monitoring, and safe transport support, with 2nd shift hours 2:00 pm–10:00 pm. Bilingual English/Spanish is required; prior child welfare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 1 year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Must be able to work extended shifts during periods of influx, including 12-hour shifts at least once a week or more.
• Ability to use basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and documentation programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake services for incoming UC, including paperwork, assessments, and orientation.
• Provide basic needs such as meals, clothing, hygiene products, shower, and bedroom assignment; assist with daily routines.
• Supervise UC and enforce behavior limits in line with treatment plans and ORR standards.
• Perform behavior management and crisis intervention with 1:1 monitoring as directed.
• Maintain a safe environment by organizing living spaces and documenting interactions per ORR standards.
