Job summary

Devereux Massachusetts is seeking Direct Support/Care Professionals to work with youth ages 4 to 14 in Paxton, MA. The role focuses on safety, supervision, and compassionate therapeutic interventions in a fast-paced team setting.

You will engage with residents, teach daily living skills, and document progress through notes and incident reports, contributing to reintegration goals and a supportive care program.

Qualifications

• Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.
• MAPS certification, or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Living Skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.
