Job summary

MUSC Children's Health seeks a Therapeutic Assistant for the Youth EmPath Unit at SJCH in South Carolina. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will provide patient care per the multidisciplinary treatment plan and assist with admissions/discharges.

This hourly position involves 3-12 hour shifts including weekends/holidays, with certification timelines for BLS and First Aid. Education varies by level, with higher requirements for II.

Qualifications

• Therapeutic Assistant I requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Therapeutic Assistant II requires Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field, or HS diploma with 1 year of behavioral health experience.
• Certification in Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire; maintain BLS/CPR Certification; TACT and First Aid within 6 months and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care as directed by the treatment plan and daily assignment sheet.
• Assist with patient admission and discharge processes.
• Monitor and promote safety of the therapeutic environment.
