Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Therapeutic Assistant for the Youth EmPath Unit. Under RN direction, you will provide patient care per the multidisciplinary plan, assist admissions/discharges, and maintain safety in a therapeutic milieu for youth in crisis.

You will help with activities of daily living and support the therapeutic program, working 3-12 hour shifts, weekends and holidays, in an 4-bay unit on the 2nd floor. MUSC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Therapeutic Assistant I requires HS diploma or equivalent.
• Therapeutic Assistant II may require BA or 1 year behavioral health experience.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Assist with admission and discharge processes per treatment plan.
• Support safety and daily living activities for youth in care.
• Uphold the therapeutic program and daily assignment sheet.
