Job summary

The Therapeutic Assistant II at the Medical University of South Carolina reports to the Nurse Manager and delivers patient care under a multidisciplinary treatment program. Responsibilities include orienting new staff, leading group activities, recording vital signs and meal percentages, and documenting care in the EMR.

You will support unit improvement projects and participate in staff meetings, with an expectation to attend about 75% of meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human_Services or closely related field.
• High school diploma and 1 year of experience in behavioral health or related healthcare required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
• Certification in de-escalation training within the orientation period for employment and annually thereafter and biannually for BLS.
