Job summary

Community Solutions Inc is seeking a Youth Advocate for the SAIL Program in Meriden, CT. This part-time temporary role supports young adults 18-23, promoting life skills and a safe, relational environment.

Training emphasizes strengths-based, trauma-informed and gender-responsive approaches while guiding residents toward independence. Wage starts at $19.75/hr with $1 second shift and $2 third shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field or associate’s degree plus 2 years of youth work experience.
• Willingness to learn strengths based, relational, trauma-informed and gender responsive approaches.
• Knowledge of Spanish in oral and written communication is desired.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport residents.

Responsibilities

• Support residents aged 18-23 in navigating personal challenges and building life skills.
• Reinforce strengths-based, gender responsive, trauma-informed program tenets.
• Coordinate daily living skills instruction and activities with the youth.
• Complete logs, reports, and data entry; document behavior motivation system (TIER).
• Supervise and transport residents; administer medication per regulations.
• Collaborate with the team to meet individual goals and safety standards.
