Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers is seeking an Activities Coordinator at the Southeast Campus in Plymouth, MA.

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Activities Coordinator is responsible for developing and coordinating recreational, social, and community activities in order to meet the social, emotional and developmental needs of youth who have experienced complex early childhood trauma and/or who are living with mental health diagnoses.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. in related human service field preferred.
• Experience working with youth or adolescents in residential or community settings.
• Supervisory experience needed.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop programming to meet the social, emotional and developmental needs of youth.
• Build institutional relationships with community partners and organizations.
• Develop and implement a monthly recreational and community activity schedule and newsletter.
• Plan and facilitate activities and train staff to run skill-building activities.
• Provide constructive feedback on activity implementation in team settings.
• Ensure access to materials such as art supplies and tickets to activities.
• Plan programming for summer and school breaks, including staff supervision.
• Provide supervision for activity milieu counselors during activities.
• Communicate with treatment teams through meetings and reports.
• Develop and maintain the activities program budget.
• Coordinate with Development for event tickets and gifts.
• Serve as coordinator for therapeutic initiatives with external organizations.
• Co-lead recreational groups.
• May require a valid Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle.
