The Youth Activities Coordinator will work with all ESPRCC Divisions to oversee youth activities in areas of recreation, fitness, after-school programs, and leisure programs in the community. The Coordinator will monitor the care and maintenance of equipment and facilities used in the community and oversee the Child Watch area of the Center. This role involves assisting with departmental activities and events, as well as training and managing Child Watch staff.
Responsibilities:
- Assist all ESPRCC Divisions to plan and oversee youth activities and programs.
- Develop programs through teamwork to fill service gaps for youth.
- Communicate with community members to assess needs and interests.
- Research sports, camps, recreation programs, and funding sources.
- Track and report on activity program progress monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Maintain program equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Supervise activities and enforce rules for staff and participants.
- Ensure a variety of sport, recreation, and cultural programs are implemented.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and identify new program needs.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and lead youth activities and volunteers.
- Facilitate local involvement in regional and territorial programs and competitions.
- Assist in preparing program budget reports.
- Support registration processes.
- Promote programs through community outreach strategies.
- Supervise Child Watch part-time staff professionally.
- Manage training, certifications, and payroll for Child Watch staff.
- Organize staff meetings for communication and accountability.
- Promote an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity.
- Develop and manage the Child Watch budget, demonstrating fiscal responsibility.
- Follow Child Watch policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Positive attitude and professional image.
- Basic skills and desire to work with children.
- Ability to relate to people at all levels in a friendly manner.
- Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
- Biannual Red Cross certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED, and Emergency Oxygen (training provided).
