Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Dance Instructor to lead Ballet/Tap classes for ages 2-5, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. The role focuses on greeting members, guiding kids through age-appropriate routines, and fostering a positive community.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate proper technique, engage groups, and maintain clean class spaces. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred, with all health and safety guidelines followed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Active participation in dance instruction or class leadership is preferred
• Ability to communicate clearly with participants of varying ages and fitness levels

Responsibilities

• Create a positive member experience by welcoming participants and engaging them in workouts
• Demonstrate proper form and technique, provide modifications and cues
• Maintain a clean and safe workout area
• Utilize scheduled class time effectively
• Set up and breakdown class equipment within allotted time
• Build community by learning names and helping members reach Health & Wellness goals
• Adhere to YMCA class guidelines and communicate with groups
• Respond to emergencies with appropriate actions
• Other duties as assigned
