The YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Dance Instructor in San Diego, CA to create welcoming, engaging dance classes that promote physical, mental, and spiritual health. You will lead sessions, ensure safety, and encourage participation in a supportive environment.

Ideal candidates have dance experience, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to all fitness levels. Training and certifications are required within 90 days of hire, with adherence to YMCA guidelines and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years or older.
  • If actively enrolled in high school, a valid Work Permit is required.
  • Dance experience preferred.
  • All trainings within 90 days from hire date.
  • Strong communication and ability to work with members of all fitness levels.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive member experience by welcoming participants and engaging them in workouts.
  • Demonstrate proper form, modifications, and cueing for safe routines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workout area.
  • Set up and breakdown class equipment within allotted time.
  • Build community by learning names and helping members reach Health & Wellness goals.
  • Adhere to YMCA guidelines and class procedures.
  • Communicate effectively to groups of varying sizes.
  • Respond to emergencies with appropriate action.
  • Other duties as assigned.
