Job summary

Jericho Project is seeking a proactive Young Adult Peer Mentor to assist outreach, housing stabilization, and service delivery for Walton House YA clients in Melrose (Bronx).

Responsibilities include outreach, intake, organizing recreational events, and collaboration with clinical staff and partners to support education and career goals for youth aged 18-25 who have experienced homelessness.

Qualifications

• Must have strong organizational, writing, and computer skills.
• Experience helping high-need Young Adults is valued.
• CASAC credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify needs of young adults with staff and support program participants.
• Accompany young adults to Housing Court, Section-8 briefings, HRA, SSA, inspections.
• Help youths gain education/career skills and meet service plan goals.
• Organize and run YA groups and monthly events; support bi-weekly YA events.
• Coordinate with Veteran Peer Mentor for ongoing events and planning.
• Develop community linkages to obtain referrals; draft YA Resource Book in year one.
• Maintain relationships with partners and staff; participate in meetings/trainings.
