Job summary

West Suburban YMCA in Newton, MA is seeking an experienced Yoga Instructor to lead group classes on Tuesday evenings at 5 PM and on weekends. The role focuses on safe, engaging instruction that supports member wellness in line with YMCA policies.

Applicants should hold CPR, First Aid, AED and a national group fitness certification (ACE/NETA/AFAA/NASM) or YMCA Foundations certification. Experience teaching group wellness is preferred; YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certs within 60 days are required

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required.
• National group fitness certification (ACE/NETA/AFAA/NASM) or YMCA Foundations certification.
• YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of group wellness instruction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instructs energizing, safe yoga classes for members.
• Answers member questions to support healthy living goals.
• Maintains accurate class attendance records.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures and responds to emergencies.
• Builds authentic relationships with members and fosters community.
