Job summary

West Suburban YMCA in Newton Corner, MA is seeking an experienced Yoga Instructor to lead group exercise classes on Tuesday nights at 5 PM and weekends. Instructs in a safe, engaging environment aligned with YMCA policies, promoting member wellness and community.

Requirements include CPR/First Aid/AED, national or YMCA certifications in group fitness, Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days, and at least one year of group fitness experience.

Qualifications

• Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, and national group fitness certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise.
• YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire.
• At least one year of experience teaching group wellness classes preferred.
• Certification in areas of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Keeps accurate class attendance records.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.

Pay range is $30- $35, dependent upon experience, certifications and education.

We are currently searching specifically for a Yoga Instructor to join our team at Church Street for Tuesday nights at 5PM and weekends.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Instructs group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
2. Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
3. Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
4. Keeps accurate class attendance records.
5. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
