Job summary

YMCA is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to lead diverse group fitness classes and promote health within the community. You will ensure a safe, inclusive, and motivating atmosphere while delivering high-energy sessions and clear technique demonstrations.

You will participate in ongoing training, stay current with industry trends, and contribute to program development. Evening and weekend availability is preferred to support member schedules.

Qualifications

• Certified in group exercise instruction (ACE, AFAA, NASM or equivalent).
• Proven experience leading group fitness classes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate participants of all fitness levels.
• Knowledge of fitness safety standards and proper techniques.
• Flexible hours includes evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead group exercise classes such as aerobics, strength training, yoga, Zumba, or other YMCA programs.
• Create a welcoming environment that encourages participation and motivation.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and safety procedures to ensure participant safety.
• Monitor and assess participant progress, providing modifications as needed.
• Maintain equipment and ensure cleanliness of the class area.
• Promote YMCA programs to encourage member engagement and retention.
