Crossroads YMCA is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor in Crown Point, Indiana. You will lead energizing classes, support diverse participants, and foster a welcoming, inclusive community. The role emphasizes motivation, safety, and effective instruction across varying fitness levels.

Responsibilities include planning, demonstrating movements, and staying updated on wellness trends while contributing to member retention and program success.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and socioeconomic circumstances.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, safe, and educational group exercise classes using YMCA guidelines and class formats.
• Create a welcoming environment for participants of different ages, fitness levels, abilities, and backgrounds.
• Demonstrate exercises and provide clear instruction, motivation, and encouragement throughout each class.
• Modify movements and instruction to support different abilities and conditions.
• Build authentic relationships with members and help participants connect with the YMCA.
• Maintain current knowledge of wellness, fitness, and group exercise trends to provide effective information and support.
