Job summary

Crossroads YMCA in Crown Point, IN is seeking a Personal Trainer to guide members of all fitness levels through personalized workouts, goal setting, and ongoing encouragement. You’ll create a welcoming environment where members feel supported, motivated, and connected to the YMCA.

You will stay current with ACSM guidelines, maintain certifications, assist with safety checks, and contribute to member engagement and events. The role requires excellent communication and a passion for healthy living.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of six months of related experience.
• Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles and safe exercise practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized workout plans and guide members through sessions.
• Lead strength and conditioning exercises with proper technique.
• Assist with goal setting, equipment orientation, and lifestyle changes.
• Build relationships through encouragement, accountability, and ongoing support.
• Follow ACSM guidelines, conduct safety checks, and enforce center policies.
