Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with class participants.
• Ability to demonstrate and instruct proper exercise techniques and safety protocols.
• Certification in group exercise instruction from a recognized organization (e.g., ACE, AFAA, or similar).
• Ability to adapt classes to meet participants' needs and abilities.
• Strong organizational skills to manage class schedules and participant records.
• Passion for health and fitness and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver group exercise classes suitable for varying fitness levels.
• Ensure safety and well-being of all participants with clear instructions and modifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized workout space following YMCA guidelines.
• Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation.
• Stay updated on fitness trends and incorporate new techniques.
• Build relationships with members to encourage ongoing participation and retention.
• Collaborate with other YMCA staff on health and fitness events.
• Attend training sessions and meetings to maintain certifications.
