Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a Full Time Facility Housekeeping Technician to keep our facility clean, inviting, and ready for program participants. You will perform a range of cleaning tasks and support event setups.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of relevant experience, the ability to work independently, and proficiency with cleaning equipment and chemicals. The YMCA offers comprehensive benefits and flexible scheduling.

• Keep assigned area clean and clear for participants.
• Perform cleaning activities such as sweeping and mopping.
• Assist in set-up for meetings and events.

• Respond to accidents, spills, and other housekeeping emergencies.

Position: Full Time Facility Housekeeping Salary: $13.00

About the Job

Are you organized, proactive and have a keen eye for details? Then the facility housekeeping technician position is for you. The YMCA facility housekeeping team set the stage for exceptional service by keeping the Y facility clean and inviting.

Some of the exciting tasks you will do as a Facility Housekeeping Technician include but are not limited to:

• Keeps assigned area clean and clear for all YMCA participants
• Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, and mopping
• Assists in set-up for meetings and/or special events
• Monitor and maintain cleaning: storage rooms, offices, kitchen, bathrooms
• Assist with laundry functions as needed
• Respond to accidents, spills, and other housekeeping emergencies

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or GED
• One-year relevant experience
• Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of performance
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, buffers, etc.)
• Knowledge of cleaning chemical capabilities, mixing proportions and use
• knowledge in maintenance and care of finished surfaces
