The YMCA Alexandria, part of the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington, is seeking a Full Time Facility Housekeeping Technician to support the chief engineer in maintaining a clean, safe environment for members. The role focuses on the men's locker room and surrounding areas, requiring organization and attention to detail.

You will perform cleaning tasks, assist with event setups, monitor storage rooms and restrooms, and help with laundry as needed.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of housekeeping or related experience.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, buffers, etc.).
• Knowledge of cleaning chemical handling and safety.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high performance.

Responsabilidades

• Keeps men's locker room and surrounding areas clean and clear for participants.
• Performs cleaning activities such as sweeping and mopping.
• Assists in setup for meetings and events.
• Monitors cleaning storage rooms, offices, kitchens, and bathrooms.
• Assists with laundry functions as needed.
• Responds to accidents, spills, and other housekeeping emergencies.

Position: Full Time Facility Housekeeping Salary: $15.00

About the Job

The YMCA Alexandria is looking for a male facility housekeeping staff to assist the chief engineer in maintenance and cleanliness in the men's locker room and around the building. Are you organized, proactive and have a keen eye for details? Then the facility housekeeping technician position is for you. The YMCA facility housekeeping team set the stage for exceptional service by keeping the Y facility clean and inviting.

Some of the exciting tasks you will do as a Facility Housekeeping Technician include but are not limited to:

• Keeps assigned areas including (men's locker room) clean and clear for all YMCA participants


• Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, and mopping


• Assists in set-up for meetings and/or special events


• Monitor and maintain cleaning: storage rooms, offices, kitchen, bathrooms


• Assist with laundry functions as needed


• Respond to accidents, spills, and other housekeeping emergencies

Schedule:

• Sunday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or GED


• One-year relevant experience


• Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of performance


• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, buffers, etc.)


• Knowledge of cleaning chemical capabilities, mixing proportions and use


• knowledge in maintenance and care of finished surfaces
