Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a proactive Facility Manager to lead maintenance and housekeeping across the Reston facilities. You will oversee day-to-day operations, preventive maintenance, and vendor coordination to keep spaces safe, welcoming, and member-ready.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in facilities management, knowledge of HVAC/plumbing/electrical systems, and a willingness to obtain Pool Operator Certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in facilities management or related field.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and preventive maintenance.
• Pool Operator Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be available for emergency call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Manage housekeeping and maintenance teams to deliver facility standards.
• Oversee preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Coordinate repairs, work orders, inspections and vendor relationships.
• Ensure safety, health and regulatory compliance across the facilities.

About the Role

As the Facility Manager, you’ll oversee day-to-day facility operations, preventive maintenance programs, and housekeeping services across the YMCA Fairfax County Reston. You’ll lead teams, manage systems, and implement best practices to ensure our YMCA facilities remain clean, safe, efficient, and member-ready at all times.

What You’ll Do: In this leadership role, you will:

• Partner with branch leadership to support special events, programs, and facility upgrades
• Lead training, performance management, and team development initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities management, housekeeping operations, or building maintenance.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and preventive maintenance.
• Pool Operator Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically active, fast-paced environment.
• Must be available for emergency call-outs as needed.
