Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor to help clients with complex tax needs, including individual and business returns. You will conduct in-depth interviews, translate life changes into tax implications, and provide clear, personalized recommendations to save money.

This in-person role offers industry-leading training, a supportive team, and opportunities to expand expertise through IRS guidance, audit support, and access to Block Advisors products and services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning and audit support.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts simply.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations (individual and business).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications; provide personalized recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships; identify tax savings opportunities and Block Advisors products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office.
