Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor to prepare complete tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns. You will conduct in-depth client interviews, provide personalized recommendations, and build lasting client relationships, supported by training and technology.

This role is in-person at a local Block Advisors office, offering a competitive hourly rate and an incentive plan based on impact and growing tax expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns and providing advisory support.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to explain tax concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications; provide recommendations.
• Build long-term client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, notices assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment.
