Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern year-round to support thermal energy system modeling and analysis at NSTTF. You will model existing and novel thermal storage systems, and work closely with technologists on projects both on-site and around the facility.

The role requires on-site work, and you will collaborate with site engineers while tackling challenging problems. Internship offers pay determined by credit hours and degree level.

Qualifications

• Earned bachelor's degree; enrolled full-time in an accredited science/engineering/math graduate program; minimum GPA 3.0/4.0.
• Work up to 30 hours/week during academic year, up to 40 hours/week in summer.
• U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Model existing and novel thermal storage systems against provided criteria.
• Support on-site and outdoor experiments at the facility.
• Collaborate with peers and site engineers to execute modeling work.
• Tackle challenging problems and projects.
