Job summary

National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) in Golden, Colorado seeks a Year-Round Program Instructor to teach adaptive sports and recreation to individuals with disabilities. You will run individual and group lessons across activities such as climbing, skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, paddle sports, and more, with travel to nearby Winter Park as needed.

You'll assess participant needs, plan lessons using adaptive and therapeutic recreation concepts, select equipment, keep progress

Qualifications

• Experience teaching adaptive sports or recreation preferred.
• Ability to assess participant needs and plan lessons using adaptive concepts.
• Strong record-keeping and equipment selection skills.
• Willingness to coordinate weekly programs and support camps and events.

Responsibilities

• Teach individual lessons, group sessions, and custom programming in activities including climbing, mountain biking, shooting sports, alpine skiing, snowboarding, ski biking, Nordic skiing, hiking, and paddle sports.
• Work with volunteers to help participants progress and create a fun, supportive experience.
• Report to Program Manager; assess needs, plan lessons, select equipment, and record progress.
• Coordinate weekly programs, support camps, and NSCD events.
