Job summary

NSCD is seeking a qualified Program Instructor to teach adaptive winter sports to participants with disabilities. You will run individual and group lessons, assess progress, and select equipment, while supporting camps and events as needed.

Required are a high school diploma and a background in adaptive recreation; a college degree and PSIA/AASI certification are preferred. Expect weekends, evenings, and multi-day programs in Colorado.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree in related field is a plus.
  • Minimum level 7 skiing ability; PSIA/AASI certification preferred.
  • Experience teaching skiing or snowboarding and working with individuals with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct individuals with disabilities in alpine skiing, snowboarding, ski biking, Nordic skiing and other winter activities.
  • Assess students and plan lessons according to adaptive concepts; set goals and progressions.
  • Deliver individual or group lessons and maintain records of progress.
  • Assist with weekly programs, camps, training sessions and events.
  • Maintain safety procedures and a friendly, professional demeanor with guests and staff.
