Job summary

Howard-Sloan Search is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a real estate investment and management organization. You will manage day-to-day AP across a portfolio of properties and related entities, handling invoice processing, coding, vendor management, payment processing, and reconciliations.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on Yardi experience, exposure to multi-entity real estate accounting, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounts payable experience in real estate or property accounting.
• Hands-on Yardi experience including invoice processing and AP workflows.
• Experience working with multiple properties and legal entities in a real estate setting.
• Understanding of real estate accounting principles and GL coding.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, filters, reconciliations).
• Experience processing ACH, wire, and check payments; familiarity with W-9/1099 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle across multiple real estate properties and entities.
• Enter, code, and process invoices in Yardi with accurate allocation to properties and GL accounts.
• Coordinate invoice approvals with property managers and teams to ensure timely payments.
• Process weekly payments (ACH, checks, wires, electronic transfers).
• Maintain vendor records, W-9s, payment instructions, and supporting docs.
• Review invoices for accuracy, approvals, duplicates, and discrepancies.
• Communicate with vendors, managers, asset management, and accounting to resolve AP issues.
• Assist with month-end close, including AP aging, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Support improvements to AP processes, controls, and workflows.
