Job summary

Menard, Inc Career Center is seeking team members to efficiently move trailers around the facility to prepare freight for Menard, Inc stores. The role requires safe operation of equipment, adherence to safety rules, and accurate handling of numbers as part of daily trailer management.

Primary duties include pre-trip and safety checks, securing loads, and coordinating with yard supervisors via the yard management system to ensure proper trailer placement and safe workflow in the yard.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently move trailers to different areas of the facility
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions while driving and operating equipment in order to ensure personal safety and the safety of others
• Open and close swinging trailer doors.
• Ensure proper freight securement of all loaded trailers
• Ability to work accurately with numbers and perform simple mathematical calculations
• Communicate with area supervisors using a yard management system to ensure proper placement of trailers
• Perform pre-trip inspection on trailers
• Perform safety check of tractor vehicle prior to operation
• Basic mechanical skills.
