Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a warehouse-style Switcher/Package Handler to move trailers, load and unload packages, and coordinate yard operations in a fast-paced environment in New Jersey. The role requires attention to safety, basic scanning, and teamwork.

The position involves pre/post-trip trailer inspections, manual handling of packages, and weekend shifts with early morning schedules. Valid CDL/driver’s license and DOT compliance are preferred and training will be provided where

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
Ability to understand and follow instruction regarding work duties and safety methods.
Ability to discern numbers and information in order to sort packages correctly.
Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes and unloading devices.

Responsibilities

Moves trailers between yard and doors and between door and yard.
Coordinates trailer movements with management and central control.
Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
Loads and unloads packages onto/from delivery vehicles, trailers, carts and conveyors.
Lifts and carries packages for multiple hours, sorting by scanning and labels.
Performs other duties as assigned.
