Job summary

Qualifications

• No education required.
• Six (6) months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to read labels and numbers to sort packages correctly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard, doors, and yard areas (switching).
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Understand and apply yard switching safety procedures.
• Handle packages by hand as needed: load, unload, sort, and place.
