Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a switcher/package handler in Minnesota. You will move trailers between yards and doors, and assist with package handling as needed, in a fast-paced environment.

Role requires following safety procedures, operating yard equipment, and verifying package details. Two to four hour shift blocks apply, with a pay range shown. E-Verify participation and accommodations available.

Qualifications

• No education required.
• Six (6) months experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator preferred.
• Must have a valid driver2 license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to follow safety methods and instructions.
• Ability to read numbers and sort packages accurately.

Responsibilities

• Performs trailer switches by hooking and moving a parked trailer from yard to a load/unload door or from a door to the yard.
• Communicates with management and central control to coordinate trailer movements in the yard.
• Documents trailer moves using the Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Lifts, carries, pushes and pulls packages on a continuous basis for shifts of 2-4 hours.
