Job summary

Federal Express Corporation in Minnesota is seeking a Switcher/Package Handler to move trailers between yards and doors, and to assist with loading, unloading and sorting packages.

You will operate the yard management tools, participate in pre- and post-trip inspections, and follow safety procedures in a fast-paced environment. No formal education required; six months experience preferred; DOT file and valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to sort packages correctly by number and label.
• Ability to operate scanners and handling equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Performs trailer switches and moves trailers between yard and doors.
• Coordinates trailer movements with management or central control.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Follows yard switching safety processes and procedures.
• Loads and unloads packages and sorts them for delivery.
