Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a package handler responsible for moving trailers to and from unload/load doors and throughout the yard. You may also load, unload, and sort packages by hand, following safety rules.

Responsibilities include performing trailer switches, coordinating movements with management, recording actions in the Yard Management System, conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, and sorting packages by scanning labels and numbers.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to follow safety instructions and procedures.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages accurately.
• Experience using basic handling tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard and doors and throughout the yard.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management/central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Sort packages by scanning labels and numbers.
• Load and unload packages onto/from delivery vehicles and conveyors.
• Work in a fast-paced team environment and follow safety procedures.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
