Job summary

GLE Scrap Metal, a leader in metals recycling, seeks an experienced facility manager for our Warren, Michigan yard. The role is hands-on, leading daily operations, safety, and production efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

You will supervise 25+ team members, coordinate with management and logistics, maintain quality standards, and drive training programs. Proficiency with proprietary inventory software and strong analytical skills are essential for forecasting and cost control.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of supervisory/managerial experience in scrap metal industry.
• Advanced computer skills and ability to learn proprietary software.
• Willingness to work Monday–Friday with possible Saturdays.
• Must pass background, physical, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Job description

GLE Scrap Metal, an industry leader in metals recycling, is seeking an experienced facility manager to oversee the daily operations at our Warren Michigan yard. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for driving production efficiency, ensuring safety standards, managing traffic flow and leading a dedicated operational team.

KEY RESPONSILBILTIES:

• Directly manage and oversee a team of 25 plus team members and be responsible for all aspects of daily operations.
• Partner closely with company management and logistics team to plan, schedule and execute daily inbound and outbound material movements.
• Maintain quality control, monitor processing lines to ensure consistent production output and high material quality standards.
• Lead all scheduled safety meetings while adhering to all safety standards as per OSHA guidelines and to assure safety is job one.
• Actively train new employees while implementing and maintaining training program for all team members.
• Master proprietary industry software to track inventory and purchase and take physical inventory at the end of each month.
• Utilize strong analytical skills to assist with financial analysis, data tracking and operational forecasting.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years of supervisory/managerial experience, ideally within the scrap metal Industry.
• Advanced computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and master proprietary inventory and operational software.
• Strong work ethic with multi-taking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Required to work Monday-Friday schedule with flexibility to work occasional Saturday as required
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check, physical and drug screening.
