Job summary

GLE Scrap Metal, a leader in metals recycling, seeks an experienced facility manager for our Warren, Michigan yard. The role is hands-on, leading daily operations, safety, and production efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

You will supervise 25+ team members, coordinate with management and logistics, maintain quality standards, and drive training programs. Proficiency with proprietary inventory software and strong analytical skills are essential for forecasting and cost control.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of supervisory/managerial experience in scrap metal industry.
• Advanced computer skills and ability to learn proprietary software.
• Willingness to work Monday–Friday with possible Saturdays.
• Must pass background, physical, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of 25+ and oversee daily operations.
• Plan and execute inbound/outbound material movements with logistics.
• Maintain quality control and monitor processing lines.
• Lead safety meetings per OSHA standards.
• Train new employees and maintain training program.
• Track inventory and perform monthly physical inventory.
• Provide analytical support for financial analysis and forecasting.
