The position assists in inventory management, scheduling equipment maintenance, and facilitating communication between yard personnel and management. A proactive problem-solver will help optimize productivity and space utilization in a busy yard

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of yard operations or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret operational documents and safety guidelines.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Yard Foreman in supervising yard operations and personnel.
• Coordinate movement and storage of materials, equipment, and vehicles within the yard.
• Monitor safety protocols and enforce compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
• Schedule and track maintenance and repairs of yard equipment and machinery.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, equipment usage, and daily operational activities.
• Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external vendors to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Support training and development of yard staff to enhance skills and operational knowledge.
• Assist in planning and implementing yard layout improvements to maximize space utilization.
