Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Yard Jockey to safely operate yard trucks, move and position trailers, and organize the yard to maximize efficiency. The role includes checking in drivers, verifying paperwork, and directing activity to loading areas.

Qualified candidates will have OSHA forklift certification, strong customer service skills, and excellent time management. Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies is essential.

Qualifications

• OSHA forklift certification (29 CFR 1910.178) required.
• Professional, courteous, and cooperative with customers and co-workers.
• Strong time management to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges.
• Ability to follow company safety policies and avoid unnecessary risks.

Responsibilities

• Move and position trailers with yard trucks while keeping the yard organized.
• Safely couple/uncouple trailers and ensure secure connections.
• Check in drivers, verify documentation, and direct them to loading areas.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections and report issues.
• Follow daily assignments from the shift supervisor.
• Assist with loading/unloading of trailers safely.
• Organize materials in the warehouse.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
