Job summary

UFP Industries in Mosheim, TN is seeking a Jockey Truck Driver to organize trailers on-site using a Yard Jockey truck, with potential forklift use. You will load/unload trucks, inspect and secure loads, maintain shipping documents, and follow all safety procedures to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires at least 6 months of yard truck experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass a driving test.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• 12th-grade basic education completed.
• At least 6 months of experience driving a commercial vehicle or yard jockey truck.
• Working knowledge of vehicle parts and minor repairs.
• Forklift licensing/licensing completed within 4 months of hire.
• CDL license not required for this position.
• Ability to pass a driving test/skills evaluation in a yard jockey truck.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives in the facility staging shipping loads in various weather conditions.
• Completes daily equipment inspection sheets.
• Loads and unloads trucks as needed to assist with production.
• Inspects equipment to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Secures load and/or inspects load to ensure it has been properly secured.
• Performs duties consistent with all applicable Company rules.
• Conducts preventive maintenance to the truck and ensures it is clean.
• Maintains appropriate shipping documents as required.
• Maintains radio contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions on trailers/loads to be moved.
• Verifies shipping documents for accuracy.
• Completes paperwork as required.
• May operate a forklift to load/unload trailers as required.
• Follows forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy.
• Completes training as required by management.
• Participates in safety programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely drives in the facility staging shipping loads in various weather conditions
