Job summary

Contract Lumber, Inc. is seeking a Yard Manager in Blackstone, VA to supervise yard operations, oversee receiving, production and shipping of building materials, and ensure inventory integrity. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with the sales and operations teams.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, profit sharing and 401(k), with a Monday–Friday first shift and overtime potential as needed.

Qualifications

• Forklift Certification required.
• Yard management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA, DOT and FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly with employees, management and customers.
• Work with Operations Manager to ensure staffing.
• Coordinate with sales on order issues and resolution.
• Schedule production and coordinate deliveries to job sites.
• Track inventory, usage, costs and trends to maintain levels.
• Request stock inventory purchases from Inventory Manager.
• Act as Safety Leader and assist with training and safety practices.
• Ensure equipment and yard comply with safety standards.
• Minimal travel may be required.
