Job summary

Performance Team is seeking a Yard Driver to safely move trailers, trucks, and equipment within a company yard and loading dock environment. You will position trailers, coordinate with dispatch and warehouse teams, and maintain organized yard operations.

The role requires valid licensure and experience with yard equipment, strong attention to safety, and the ability to document movements accurately. Salary starts at $25.00 per hour with potential adjustments based on location and market

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required; CDL may be required based on operational needs.
• Experience operating yard tractors, hostlers, trailers, or similar equipment preferred.
• Ability to safely maneuver equipment in confined spaces and active yard environments.
• Ability to accurately document trailer movements and yard activity.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate yard trucks, hostlers, tractors, and other assigned equipment.
• Move trailers between parking areas, docks, staging areas, and maintenance locations.
• Connect and disconnect trailers in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment.
• Accurately position trailers at assigned dock doors and staging locations.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, yard activity, and equipment status.
• Communicate with dispatch, warehouse personnel, drivers, and leadership regarding trailer locations, priorities, and operating conditions.
• Maintain an organized, secure, and safe yard.
• Follow company safety procedures, yard traffic rules, and applicable DOT requirements.
• Immediately report vehicle, trailer, equipment, cargo, or facility damage.
• Monitor trailer and equipment conditions and report maintenance needs.
• Assist with yard checks and trailer inventory when required.
• Operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment when properly trained and authorized.
• Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
