Qualifications

• Three (3) years driving a mule jockey or tractor trailer driving experience.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to accurately process alpha/numeric data.
• Ability to function effectively in a fast paced work environment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative.
• Ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions and make sound judgments.
• Flexible hours including nights, overtime, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-shift mechanical inspection of assigned company truck (yard mule) and report any deficiencies.
• Operate yard truck and ensure cargo is properly secure for transport throughout the facility; load/unload break bulk cargo, containers, steel/pipe using standard equipment.
• Couple and uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions and connecting/disconnecting air and electrical lines.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions following signals from loading crew and ensuring proper positioning of vehicle and equipment.
• Maintain logs of loads and submit accurate daily shift activity.
• Keep a clean work area free of debris and hazards and be aware of surroundings at all times.
• Perform other duties such as general labor as assigned.
