Job summary

Grocery Outlet is seeking a Yard Hostler to operate yard tractors and forklifts, moving trailers and docking containers across our facility. You will follow safety protocols, meet performance KPIs, and support efficient distribution operations.

The role requires 1+ years in a warehouse setting, the ability to read and interpret basic instructions, and strong organizational skills. Weekend and early shift hours are possible depending on operations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience operating machinery and working in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to read and write legibly, perform basic math, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to read and comprehend basic safety rules and operating instructions.
• Demonstrates good organizational and time management skills.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Drive yard tractor to move trailers between doors, dock areas, and storage locations.
• Perform multiple trailer moves per hour, meeting KPIs.
• Place chocks and pup stands during trailer docking.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
• Maintain physical fitness for a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with management to ensure efficient operations and complete tasks.
• Use forklifts to load and unload trucks as required.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
