Job summary

ALCOM in Sioux Falls, SD is hiring for a Full Time Manual Labor role to load finished trailers on flatbed, drop deck and ramp trailers and to properly secure outgoing loads. The position requires forklift experience and physical stamina for outdoor work.

Responsibilities include operating forklift and yard equipment, maintaining yard organization, and ensuring safety policies are followed. A High School diploma or GED and hands-on experience with forklifts, tractors, and rigging are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Hands-on experience with tractors, vehicles, forklifts and boom lifts preferred.
• Experience with rigging preferred.

Responsibilities

• Loads finished trailers and parts for shipments.
• Operates forklift, yard tractor, and material handling equipment in and around warehouse.
• Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the yard.
• Uses straps, wood, and dunnage to secure loads.
• Ensures compliance with safety policies and PPE is worn.
• Works with the Shipping Yard Lead to provide load documentation to drivers.
• Performs basic preventive maintenance on equipment in the yard.
• Reviews freight orders to avoid delays in shipping.
• Loads and unloads shipments as required.
• Performs other related duties and assignments.
