Job summary

ALCOM in DeLand, FL is seeking a Warehouse Loader to load finished trailers onto flatbed and related trailers, securing loads to meet shipping demands and ensuring safe operation.

The role requires forklift experience, outdoor work, and strict adherence to safety policies; bending and lifting will be required, with PPE usage mandatory. High school diploma or GED and prior rigging experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience with tractors, vehicles and forklifts and boom lifts preferred.
• Experience with power tools preferred.
• Experience rigging desired.

Responsibilities

• Loads finished trailers and parts for scheduled shipments.
• Operates forklift, yard tractor, and material handling equipment in and around warehouse
• Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the yard
• Utilizes available loading straps, wood, and dunnage to properly secure loads.
• Ensures compliance with all safety policies and PPE is worn.
• Works with the Shipping Yard Lead to assure proper load documentation is provided to each driver.
• Performs basic preventive maintenance on equipment in the yard (tractor, lift truck, fall protection systems).
• Reviews freight orders to identify potential issues to avoid delays in shipping.
• Loads and unloads shipments, pallets, as may be required.
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
