Job summary

ALCOM in DeLand, FL is seeking a Full Time Manual Labor team member to load finished trailers, secure loads and operate forklift and related equipment. The role is outside, with exposure to weather and noise, and requires attention to safety and proper PPE.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, forklift and rigging experience, plus ability to maintain yard organization and assist drivers with load documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience with tractors, vehicles and forklifts; boom lifts preferred.
• Experience with a variety of power tools.
• Rigging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load trailers and parts for shipments.
• Operate forklift, yard tractor, and material handling equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard.
• Secure loads using straps, wood, and dunnage.
• Ensure safety policies and PPE are worn.
• Assist with load documentation for drivers.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance on yard equipment.
• Review freight orders to avoid shipping delays.
• Load/unload shipments as required.
• Perform other related duties as required.
